This was my first full days wedding after lockdown and boy did I need it; it felt so good being back in action amongst the tears, laughter and emotion.

Aynslie & Hugh were a dream to work with, full of character and expressive mannerisms. I really enjoyed getting to know them and capturing their personalities. They made everything look so effortless even if they didn’t know it.

I haven’t shot at many venues better than Stubton Hall; the grounds are amazing with endless options for photography. The interior is just as superb; the window light is to die for and that staircase… just wow!

Even with the restrictions in place this felt like a ‘proper’ wedding, there wasn’t any shortage of atmosphere.  Bolstered by the fantastic bridal party, at times it felt like the room was filled with 80 guests, only to look around and see 15. These guys kept me thoroughly entertained all day and it wasn’t long before the tequila came out…

We enjoyed soaking up the autumn colours as we wandered around the grounds for the couple’s portraits. This was such a fun shoot, and the laughter just kept pouring out.

Back inside for some real, raw, authentic speeches. You can just imagine the outpour of emotion that’s escalated by the current situation. I have to mention the great food including a 3-course meal with the largest portion sizes I’ve ever seen at a wedding.

We ended the day embracing the elements to capture some wet and windy portraits, which I felt turned out pretty cool.

In a nutshell this wedding was the bomb…
