Ayesha & George were certainly an exciting couple to photograph, both being playful and expressive characters. I really enjoyed capturing their humour throughout the day as they bounced off one another. There were many intimate moments, shortly followed by hysterical laughter. Just an all round great couple to photograph.

After a moving church ceremony and a shower of confetti we all headed to Shuttleworth house and gardens for the reception.

Shuttleworth is a stunning venue; the gardens are just so idyllic and dreamy. I love the meandering streams and endless foliage; nature really does just jump out at you. Then in a flick of a switch you’re into the aircraft hangers, with the smell of oil and heavy machinery everywhere, a real contrast within seconds.

Shuttleworth’s stunning gardens

We enjoyed spending time exploring these grounds; George & Ayesha were complete naturals. I’ll always remember a hysterical sequence of images when Ayesha’s veil got caught in the wind and blown into the sky, the look on her face was priceless.

This wedding had a fantastic, positive energy throughout the day; all the guests and family were immersed in laughter throughout.

We were treated to some sublime evening light, which we made the most of by venturing across some rolling fields, working on some creative compositions that I had had in mind since I arrived. Golden hour heaven!

As the light faded the noise levels ramped up, the dance floor was actually shaking, you can’t beat live music for getting the crowd going and boy did they get going.

There aren’t many better ways to top off an already perfect day than by having surprise fireworks lighting the night sky up. A special end to a special day, thank you for letting me be a part of it.

Irnham Hall Wedding Photography & Photographer

I’m lucky enough to photograph many weddings at Irnham Hall, and it remains one of my favourites. Leila & Jamie take great care and effort in delivering an outstanding service whilst ensuring your wedding day runs smoothly and stress free

I arrived bright and early to greet Daisy & her bridal party in the Irnham cottages. From the moment I arrived there was a real buzz of excitement in the air. Amazingly, most of the girls already had hair and make up complete, a rare sight indeed.

It’s always worth allowing extra time to get ready; the last thing you need to be doing is scrambling around five minutes before the ceremony still in your pj’s.

Daisy looked simply stunning. Her wedding gown was just the most perfect choice and her bouquet finished off her classy, timeless look.

After a touching grand reveal with her father we were all set for the ceremony in the Orangery.

Wet weather expectations

The rain was beating down, which can make things a little tricky, but it’s always best to embrace the rain instead of letting it get you down. Some of the funniest and most striking images I’ve ever taken happen in the rain, so just go with it, and that’s exactly what Daisy did.

As anticipated, the ceremony was full of joy, laughter and love. Everyone braved the elements with brollies at the ready as we captured the signature Irnham group photo on the way down to the main reception.

I thoroughly enjoyed capturing the personalities and characters at this wedding. As the night wore on, the decibels intensified and by the time the speeches came around the atmosphere was electric.

I noticed a break in the weather so we sneaked out to capture the beautiful purple and mauve hues in the sky as day gave way to night.

Before we knew it, the music was on, the party was rocking and the dance moves were popping, what an after party!

We took a ten minute breather from the carnage inside to reflect and have quiet moment under the night sky to capture some evening portraits, always a must in my eyes.

Daisy & Ash it was a pleasure to be a part of you fantastic wedding.

The West Mill Wedding Venue Photography

I met Gary & Marc at their engagement shoot at Bradgate Park, it’s fair to say they were slightly anxious about posing in public and being the centre of attention.

As a photographer it’s your job and duty to make couples feel as relaxed and as content as possible. I feel I do a good job of doing just that. At the end of the shoot I got the impression, as I do most of the time, that they felt a sense of relief that actually being in front of the camera isn’t so bad.

This stood them both in good stead for their wedding day at the West Mill in Derby.

The West Mill is a stylish, historic, venue with four floors, each with individual character. This was my first visit to the West Mill and I couldn’t wait to incorporate the industrial architecture into the images.

On arrival I found Gary frantically putting the final, unique touches to the venue to make it their own; it looked superb.

When I went to meet Marc, he was very relaxed, on the outside anyway. I spent some time with him capturing his preparations.

As more guests arrived, the anticipation built, and the ceremony was soon upon us. What a lovely ceremony it turned out to be, full of emotion and joy and a privilege to bear witness to.

With the weather being on the slightly chilly side I had to move fast with the group photos and portraits.

Couples Portraits

We dodged in and out of the showers and made the most of the winter light as it came and went. Gary & Marc really pulled off their portraits and we came away with some great images.

The celebrations continued into the evening, as I witnessed some touching speeches that came from the heart.

Arcade games kept the kids and adults amused until the dance floor opened. To end a perfect day we stepped outside for a chilly but beautiful sparkler send off.
