Bassmead manor barns is such a great wedding venue choice, you just can’t go wrong. Fantastic staff, stunning grounds and a beautiful barn to tie the knot in.
Millie & Dan found this out first hand. I remember their day just flowing perfectly. The bridal prep was effortless and stress-free, even with their little baby present; she was adorable.
I do love it when the groomsmen are also on site, that way I can nip in-between the bride and groom easily and capture photographs of the lads. Dan was in fine fettle, even though he did have one hand in the nappy changing bag on my arrival.
The scene was set for a beautiful ceremony and it didn’t disappoint, the emotion was laid bare for all to see.
They had their own ideas on some images they wanted to try out; personally I love this, as it gives me the impression they are keen to put that little bit of extra time into their portraits, which in turn gives me the freedom to keep suggesting new ideas to them, which they took me up on every occasion. Makes my job easy!
The Portraits
Throughout the wedding day, we would sneak off for 5 minutes now and then to capture some cool images of them both. I remember the golden hour well, it was just stunning light and Dan & Millie were completely into each other which gave their images a real edge and romantic feel.
A wedding I’ll never forget, thank you for letting me be your Photographer Millie & Dan

About Lee Daniels Photography
Creating compositions that combine the landscape and the couple is something that personally drives me; but I never forget about those intimate, personal moments that define you and your wedding. So you can be assured you’ll receive a compelling variety of images that reflect your day as you remember it.
Chasing the light at sunset gets me really excited, I’d always recommended getting out at this time of day, as well as getting some beautiful images, it gives you the chance to have some alone time with one another and let the events of the day sink in.
Let’s not forget about the after party; the best part about staying late into the evening is the dance floor action, it’s great to have a sing and dance whilst shooting at the same time. Then before I leave I aim to capture at least one unique after dark image, it’s always worth five minutes of your time, even if you are stumbling around a little, the results can be amazing.
On arrival the Old Hall in Ely looked magical. What a beautiful winter scene. The Old Hall offers some stunning potential for waterscape and landscape wedding photography all year round.
It was evident from the start that Sarah & Michael were so deeply in love. The expressions and emotions from this wedding where so intense and true I couldn’t help but just get wrapped up in it all. Sometimes the emotion of a wedding just takes over and you just shoot on instinct, looking more for reactions and moments as opposed to compositions and framing.
The warmth was eventually broken when we all had to step outside; we braced the elements and managed to capture some beautifully romantic images. Sarah had the most wonderful smile and real uplifting energy; she was a natural in front of the camera.
The Old Hall was dressed perfectly for a winter wedding, tea lights and table candles brought warmth and life to the marquee.
After Dark Photography
With lack of daylight hours in the winter, you always have to push yourself to come up with new creative ideas for the after dark photography. This part of the day really excites me and I enjoy the challenge of coming up with new ideas for my couples
This really was just the most perfect winter wedding, thank you for letting me be a part of it.
