Anna & Martin – Chippenham Park Wedding photography and Photographer

It was back to the beautiful Chippenham Park for Anna and Martin’s wedding day. It’s always great working here. The grounds are flawless, with massive scope for creativity, just what I like.

Anna and the bridal party were buzzing with excitement and the prosecco was flowing nice and early. The mood soon changed when the gifts were handed out, lovely to see such raw emotion from all the girls, there were more than a few tears.

I left the ladies to finish hair and make up to capture the intimate details of the venue and there was plenty of that; so much effort had gone into planning the day. I found Martin and the boys wondering the grounds so it was good to snap a few shots of the lads.

Dress time. One of my favourite parts of the day is witnessing the bride’s realisation that she  is now in her dress and will soon be walking down the aisle. The reaction always varies but you can guarantee a nice deep breath to compose herself at some point.

After a few shots of all the bridal party, I got into position for the long awaited walk down the aisle. And what a lovely aisle it is, one of the best around, the setting is just perfect.

After a touching ceremony it was time for everyone to let their hair down and enjoy the day. The grounds of Chippenham park really lends itself to a relaxed, informal wedding, the canapés and drinks seamlessly just keep coming.

Being one of the hottest days of the year I didn’t waste any time in getting all the group photos ticked off, then we had some spare time to have a wonder around the bridge and river before heading into the marquee.

The speeches went down well and mum got the biggest cheer of the day, such a wonderfully touching moment.

The best thing about this summer is you are more than likely going to get a sunset, so I made the most of the fading light to take Anna & Martin out for some intimate, quite time. I find this is the most rewarding part of the day, both bride and groom are so much more relaxed, this really shines through in the photos.

They headed back to the dance floor to bust out some moves and mingle with friends, but just before I left I wanted to try one last image, safe to say I think it was worth it.

Fantastic day, and a happy future to you both.

I met up with Lise and Owain on their engagement shoot on the Norfolk coast; it was great to learn about all their wedding day plans at Bassmead manor barns, I had a feeling it was going to be a special day and it didn’t disappoint.

I arrived bright and early to find Lise and all her girls in high spirits and their make up preparations were coming along nicely. I also spent some time with Owain during his grooms prep and once he had opened all his lovely gifts, I took a few quick shots of the lads and it was back to the bride.

She looked absolutely beautiful in her wedding dress, it suited her perfectly, emotions were running high as expected as everyone waited for the nod to enter the Rickety Barn for the wedding ceremony.

It was a stunning service that had everything you could want in a ceremony, so heartfelt and beautiful.

The whole day really flowed and everything fell into place, the weather played its part, the staff made sure the day ran smoothly and Lise and Owain were complete super stars. They had so many personal family touches but my favourite was the family band, just magic.

We made the most of some awesome evening light and after some outrageous dance moves we even ended with some great after dark images.

Wonderful day and wonderful people

Wow this wedding had everything; two ceremonies, two dresses and two of the nicest clients I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Lisa and Chris unwittingly forgot to book their registrar for their main 14.00 ceremony so this meant an intimate 10.30 ceremony for close family and friends then the main event a bit later on in the afternoon.

So an early start for bridal prep but I didn’t mind, I love this time in the morning capturing all the little details and emotions as they unfold. Bassmead manor barns is a great wedding venue to hold your ceremony, everything you need is on site and you’re well looked after by all the staff.

Lisa was full nervous excitement and I really enjoyed capturing all that emotion, especially as I had an extra cute flower girl to keep my camera busy.

It was time for the first intimate ceremony, it was strange seeing Bassmead set up for around 20 people. But as expected it was a beautiful service, really touching and personal.

We had about 30 minutes of time to capture some couples portraits, so I made good use of the grounds, it was a real treat to photograph the bride and groom at this time in the morning, making use of the different light and backdrops.

Back for the second round of bridal prep, leading up to the main event. All the guests began to arrive and filled up the Rickety Barn to the rim. The second service seemed even more emotional as the tears rolled down all the bridal parties faces.

After the service the bride and groom came out to a shower of confetti and after a quick group photo it was time for a welcome drink and canapés.

It seemed all of Lisa and Chris friends and family liked a good party as there were plenty of candid moments to capture, everyone was really enjoying the occasion.

Shooting the bridal party was so much fun, I’d say something to trigger off a reaction then the laughter just ran through them all.

After the speeches and food it was time for a good old knees-up, the celebrations ran long into the night and every now and then someone literally got thrown in the air.

Before I left I made sure I captured some after-dark images, these always go down well with the bride and groom.
