A wedding day at Chippenham Park is always special. This luxurious venue offers some of the best backdrops and views in the business. The pristine grounds have so much potential; as a wedding photographer you’re spoiled for choice.

It was a beautiful late summers morning with blue skies forecast for Leanne & Jamie’s wedding day.

The bridal preparations flew by, and I had a great time getting to know the bridal party. In particular their two boys, what characters they were; I knew I was going to have some fun capturing their personalities.

The scene was set for a lovely outdoor ceremony, you can’t beat outdoor ceremonies on a beautiful day, and Chippenham Park has not one but two options for this.

The excitement was building as the ceremony came closer. What a memorable moment as her son walked her down the aisle to give her away, Jamie standing proud as he watched on. It was a heartfelt ceremony with many personal touches.

Leanne & Jamie didn’t want too much fuss, they opted for a more relaxed, reportage style of photography. I really enjoy this, being able to capture expressions and moments unseen. It’s also just as nice to capture the intimacy and closeness of a couple; this is best done when I take you off for some couples portraits, you can leave the prying eyes behind and just have five minutes alone. I always feel these times are good for the couple, just to breathe, relax and soak up one another before you head back to the guests.

Golden hour

After some entertaining speeches, the light was dipping, creating a gorgeous glow that I just couldn’t resist; we headed out for some golden hour romance, and those images turned out dreamy.

They partied into the night and topped the day off with a sparkler send off. Just an all round beautiful wedding, thank you for letting me be a part of it.

A beautiful Scrivelsby walled garden Wedding

Scrivelsby walled garden is a charming, rustic venue. It’s a relaxed setting surrounded by beautiful, well-kept gardens; perfect for creative wedding photography. The tipi’s offer a luxurious bohemian feel and vibe.

So when Sarah & Rob told me all about their plans at this venue I was super excited to be working there.

We had a fabulous engagement shoot around the Lincoln town centre, chasing the light and searching for cool compositions.

On the wedding day, the bridal prep flew by. I was amazed by how relaxed and composed Sarah was; it was refreshing to see. On arrival to the ceremony, Rob was also a picture of calm. Nothing fazed these two.

After a touching ceremony, we all made our way to Scrivelsby walled garden. On arrival I was blown away by how beautiful this venue was, there were so many creative options and cute little spots. We took our time exploring the grounds, making use of all the wonderful flowers in bloom.

Then the heavens open just at the right time for us all to dart inside to eat and indulge in some heartfelt speeches.

The weather cleared and we managed to get outside to explore the grounds further in search of the sunset, we were blessed with some magical light to play with.

Starlit evening

My most vivid memories of this wedding came during the after dark shoot; the stars shone above, and the fairy lights twinkled at twilight. I framed the happy couple in the trees and under a well, using a little pop of flash from behind to bring the scene to life; I absolutely love this image, it’s one of my all time favourites.

Thank you to Sarah and Rob for letting me be a part of your wedding day, I had a blast.

Old Hall Ely Wedding Photography – Sarah & Michael

Old Hall Ely wedding photographer & Photography

On arrival the Old Hall in Ely looked magical. What a beautiful winter scene. The Old Hall offers some stunning potential for waterscape and landscape wedding photography all year round.

It was evident from the start that Sarah & Michael were so deeply in love. The expressions and emotions from this wedding where so intense and true I couldn’t help but just get wrapped up in it all. Sometimes the emotion of a wedding just takes over and you just shoot on instinct, looking more for reactions and moments as opposed to compositions and framing.

The warmth was eventually broken when we all had to step outside; we braced the elements and managed to capture some beautifully romantic images. Sarah had the most wonderful smile and real uplifting energy; she was a natural in front of the camera.

The Old Hall was dressed perfectly for a winter wedding, tea lights and table candles brought warmth and life to the marquee.

After Dark Photography

With lack of daylight hours in the winter, you always have to push yourself to come up with new creative ideas for the after dark photography. This part of the day really excites me and I enjoy the challenge of coming up with new ideas for my couples

This really was just the most perfect winter wedding,  thank you for letting me be a part of it.
