I caught up with Liza and Mark on their engagement shoot around Normanton. It was great to learn all about their wedding day plans. They warmed to the camera really well and I knew they would be superstars on their wedding day.
On the morning of the wedding I was greeted by a room full of lovely ladies all busy with hair and make up. There were also two of the cutest little flower girls that I just knew would keep my camera occupied all day. I went about my business capturing the moments that naturally unfolded. It was great to be able to switch between bridal prep and grooms prep as they where both getting ready at Barnsdale Lodge.
I was back at one of my local venues for the ceremony, the lovely Normanton Church. It looked great soaked in sunshine but on this occasion there was a strong wind whipping around which made for some interesting pictures.
As always the registrars delivered a beautiful service and before we knew it everyone was out in the fresh air once more. I took the chance to take some pictures around the impressive grounds of Normanton before we hopped onto the Rutland Belle, which gently took us from one shore to the other, a lovely way to arrive at your reception.
After all the traditional group photos I concentrated my efforts on capturing lots of candid moments. Liza and Mark were great fun to work with, I thoroughly enjoyed this wedding day; they partied long into the evening and ended the night with celebratory cigars .

Katie and Daniel’s wedding day at Barnsdale Hall had finally come around and what a day it was. I loved every moment. They had put so much effort into planning their day and it really paid off.
It was a gorgeous summers day at Barnsdale Hall and when I meet all the bridal party that morning, they were all bursting with excitement. It was endless smiles and giggles throughout the bridal prep, perfect for some natural photographs.
Their daughter Isabelle was racing around; trying to keep up with her was a bit of a challenge but I managed to capture some lovely images of her.
It was a special moment when Katie’s Dad laid eyes on his daughter for the first time in her dress, I just loving capturing these emotional moments.
A quick ride in a golf buggy and the bridal party were ready to walk down the aisle.
They were fortunate enough to be having an outside ceremony, accompanied by a live orchestra. As the bride walked towards her husband-to-be it really was a powerful moment. The registrars provide a beautiful service and Barnsdale provided the perfect setting. As the Orchestra played the whole wedding party were singing at the top of their voices, including myself and within no time the bride and groom had become husband and wife.
After the service everyone enjoyed socialising on the terrace, they had ice cream, pimms and garden games to keep them entertained.
We could take our time over all the required photos and the whole day just flowed perfectly.
Inside, the venue had been dressed so beautifully. All the little intimate touches gave the room a real unique feel and the flowers were just superb.
After the formalities I took the couple off around the grounds of Barnsdale using the beautiful backdrop of Rutland water, it is such a lovely county.
As it was the height of summer I suggested we went again to the shores of Rutland water for some sunset images, they both obliged and we were treated to a lovely sunset.
After a good old boogie we ended the day with some moonlit photography, a magical end to an unforgettable wedding day.

I was so excited to be photographing Julia & Gavin’s wedding day at the stunning Exton Chapel and Barnsdale Lodge. We got to know each other on their engagement shoot and from what they had told me about their plans I anticipated it being a great day.
I met up with Julia and her family early morning and went about capturing all the special moments during Julia’s bridal prep; all the girls were bubbling with excitement, although I could tell Julia was feeling slightly nervous. But she looked stunning in her wedding gown and her make up complimented her style perfectly.
I arrived at Exton Chapel in good time to marvel at the impressive grounds and capture the groom’s arrival. Gavin was in good sprits and looked keen to get the service underway.
Julia and her Dad arrived in a classic vintage car and in this setting it looked stunning. The sun was shinning with blue skies above.
Julia was so nervous but she managed to gather her composure as she made her way down the aisle. It was a memorable and beautiful service.
After the ceremony the bride and groom where greeted to a shower of confetti and had some time to mingle in the courtyard. I remember one cool little dude capturing my eye, he was such a poser. I spent some time with the bridal party taking advantage of the gorgeous grounds around Exton Estate then we made our way to Barnsdale Lodge.
The day was playing out just perfectly, it was such a relaxed and joyous atmosphere. Before we knew it the speeches and food were over and it was onto the evening reception to create more great memories with family and friends.
I managed to sneak the newlyweds off for some priceless bride and groom time. There are lovely options around Barnsdale lodge, so we made full use of the grounds.
What a fantastic wedding day from start to finish .
