It was a pleasant drive from my home in Oakham to the William Cecil in Stamford, the fields and skyline looked beautiful and dramatic and I hoped we would be in for a special day, not only to celebrate Elaine and Andy’s wedding but also when it came to the lighting. We were not disappointed…..
I met Elaine early in the morning during her bridal preparations at the William Cecil, the bridal suite there has some lovely window light and a good space to work in. Everyone was buzzing with excitement and Elaine was keen for me to photograph as many details as possible, she was particularly keen for me to capture her little girl, so I started the process of making friends with the children
In no time the bride and bridal party had finished their hair and make up and everyone was ready to make their way to the ceremony room in the William Cecil. I always enjoy photographing the father of the bride reaction when he she’s his daughter for the first time, its priceless.
Andy was patiently waiting along with his groomsmen keeping him occupied and soon enough the moment arrived where he would see his bride walk down the aisle, but leading the precession was his cute daughter. He had a beaming smile from ear to ear. The service was full of laughter and sentiment, a lovely mix of emotions.
Due to the rain showers I was keen to get all the group photos finished as soon as possible, but I was also aware I needed to let the day flow, there’s always a fine line between being too pushy as a photographer, you have to respect that the bride and groom buy antibiotics london also want time to reflect and mingle with guests.
Typically down came a rain shower half way through the group pictures, but this didn’t stop the high sprits of Elaine and Andy, they were keen to get back out as soon as the rain had passed. They both were a pleasure to work with and took my advice whenever I saw a good photographic opportunity. We took a romantic walk around the grounds of the William Cecil, there’s a lovely loop that provides great photographic scope.
After the speeches and first dance I kept a close eye on the weather, I anticipated it would be worth taking a short drive to a near by field and when I saw a rainbow start to appear I said this is an opportunity not to be missed, braving a rain shower and standing in a wet field I have to say they both deserved their rainbow picture. The sun effects where some of the best I had ever seen, we then drove a little higher to look down over Stamford, we were treated to a wonderful sunset and some glorious light.
It was then back to the William Cecil for a good old dance and some sparkler pictures to finish.
As a Rutland based wedding photographer it’s always nice to photograph weddings on my local patch. But first I dropped into Sarah’s home to photograph her bridal preparations. She had a full house, but all was calm and organized.
The girls were in good spirit as the laughter filled the rooms. In no time all the hair and make up was finished and it was time to get ready into her wedding dress.
Sarah looked wonderful in her wedding dress and she had such a beaming smile.
We had a few family and bridesmaid photos in the garden before we left for Normanton Church in Rutland.
It was slightly breezy when we arrived at Normanton, although this all added to the fun. As everyone held onto the hats and skirts we hastened into the service.
It was a beautiful service and I was able to capture all the emotion as it unfolded discreetly from the front.
Due to the slightly forceful breeze the wedding guest didn’t hang around Normanton Church for long, most headed to Normanton Park hotel for a welcome drink, although I did keep back the bridal party for some fun photographs. Ben is a keen American Football player so naturally the American football made an appearance.
Once back at Normanton Park hotel the bride and groom had some time to mingle with friends before we got stuck into the group photos. Sarah had some great friends and family buy pet antibiotics online which made the group photos run smoothly.
Before we knew it was time to head inside for the wedding breakfast. But first the speeches. Which all went down extremely well. I took a few hours to recharge the batteries, and then back into the thick of things. Towards the late evening I took the bride and groom for a walk back towards Normanton church to photograph them in the low light, we just managed to see the sun pop out for a brief few minutes, enough time to capture some lovely pictures.
I stayed long into the evening to capture the drama on the dance floor as it unfolded.
A beautiful wedding day, all the best for the future
I was glad when Jo and Peter mentioned their wedding venue was Chippenham Park in Cambridgeshire, it’s a beautiful wedding venue with endless options for photographs.
I arrived at Chippenham park around midday to meet Jo as she arrived, she was slightly apprehensive not about getting married but about the weather. She desperately wanted the ceremony outside but Mother Nature had other plans. It was agreed the wedding ceremony would be inside. Being inside for the ceremony from a photographic point of view is still great, the room is lovely with great window light.
Jo went for real emphasis on a floral theme, their where flowers everywhere, even her bouquet has half the size of her. She also had a wonderful floral headpiece, all of which her mum made. They really did look special.
I was kept busy interchanging between rooms, photographing the bridal preparations, the groom’s arrival and lots of kiddy pictures, trying to win their confidence is a big part of my work, I always find if you make friends with the children, everyone is more relaxed around you.
Once Jo was in her wedding dress, which looked stunning, there was special surprise from mum and dad out the front of Chippenham Parks front doors. A horse and carriage. What a magnificent slight it is when the bride is whisked away on the back of the carriage.
Meanwhile Peter was kept in suspense, but he was assured she hadn’t gone far. The service was emotional and heart felt. With some touching exchanges of personal emotions.
After the ceremony I went buy doxycycline antibiotics online about my work capturing scenes as they unfolded and setting up group pictures.
A real treat was the carrousel which all the children flocked to, well even the adults did too, I managed to sit on the back of a horse and tried to remain relatively still to capture the bride and groom in shot.
The day was flying by and before we knew it the meal and speeches where upon us. After which everyone was treated to the arrival of an ice-cream van, again the adults took to this just as much as the kids.
We found the time to take a wonder down river and capture some lovely intimate images of Jo and Peter, they appreciated a bit of quite time together and this really shows in the photographs.
I stayed long into the evening to photograph the dance floor antics as well as some low light images in the long grasses of Chippenham, which was a great way to end their wedding day.
